I just got a Roku and had high hopes for the Spectrum app. However, finding and changing channels is so difficult it renders the app pretty much useless. Going from channel 1 to channel 600 takes a few minutes of scrolling through each channel in the guide, one by one. Is there any way to enter a channel number with the remote or use Roku's voice functionality to search for a channel by number or name? If not, why not, and what is the plan and timeline for implementing a reasonable way to change channels? I feel like I must surely be missing something here, since I can't imagine a live TV streaming app would be deemed ready for release without such a basic function.

(I'm aware of the semi-functional "favorite channels" feature, but even when that works, it is at best a silly and partial workaround.)

Hi. I recently got a new modem and router from Spectrum. While setting it up I've noticed and I think I've noticed in the past that the Roku player I have - Roku Express - gets much slower Wi-Fi speeds than the laptops I have. My two Wi-Fi using netbooks and my iPhones get at least 220 MBPS download speeds... almost the same as my ethernet wired one. But the Roku player gets like from 7-13 MBPS... much less.

I've noticed from time to time buffering issues or less than great PQ and other oddities and it's hard to tell if this is due to the slower internet or if it is a roku or spectrum app issue or a combination or what. But the slower speed does seem unusual since I've read of many getting at least 50+ MBPS on it.

Just wondering if anyone has noticed this and what may be the issue. I can't seem to log into the Wave 2 spectrum router... apparently not allowed.. to change the channels but like I said... everything else on Wi-Fi is getting ethernet-like speeds. There is a roku that has an ethernet connection but not sure if that will work better and it costs a lot more. I guess there are other roku players (roku streaming stick?) that have a faster connection speed.. 802.11ac, but also not sure if this will make a difference since it is so much slower on the one i have.

Hi . So out of the blue I received a new modem and router from Spectrum yesterday. I had no other warning that my ubee modem needed to be replaced or else service would be lost in a week or so. I hooked it up last night and everything seems to be working okay for the most part.

The new modem is model Hitron E31N2V1 . Here is the manual for it:

https://d15yx0mnc9teae.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/Charter%20D31%20eMTA%20-%20E31N2V1%20User%20Guide.pdf

When I try to log into the modem GUI using 192.168.100.1, nothing happens. I'd like to log in so i can adjust the wifi channels. My roku is using channel 1 and seems to be getting only 13 MBPS while everything else on wi-fi gets 220 MBPS. I'd like to adjust the channel to see if I can improve the roku situation.

Is it possible to log into this modem? If not, is it possible to change the channels? Thanks.

I've noticed this year that BBC America channel audio cuts out every couple of seconds or so and makes watching any program very difficult - especially a drama, i.e. Dr. Who or even Seven Worlds. It is the ONLY channel that exhibits this behavior and as such, cannot be attributed to the equipment, my TV or cabeling. Hasn't anyone else noticed this most annoying channel behavior? My only recourse is to not watch that channel - so be on notice advertisers, anything on that channel will probably get deminished returns.
