Lot of correctable / Uncorrectable

Hello all,

I have been noticing on my network this morning a very large increase in correctable / uncorrectable blocks. This is rather unusual as my network for the last 2 years has been fairly stable and not really seeing these blocks until just recently.

I've done all the troubleshooting I could on my end to attempt to correct the issue and spoke with a Lv.1 tech who said their hub was not expereincing any issues. I do have a tech coming on site on Monday.

Here is the last 10 hours of my modem thus far.. numbers are steadily rising and latency can be felt in my work and in basic daily usage.

    Good morning.

Unfortunately if our technicians do not have access to the line due to the trees they

will not be able to replace or inspect that. The trees would need to be trimmed back.

If the trees are the city responsibility please do call them and request that

that be done, that it is effecting your services. it is their responsibility to trim those back.

I would also suggest calling the utility company, they may be able to come do that

if they are also encroaching on their lines.

    Regards,

You have a severe problem with errors because the signal levels of most of your incoming DS channels is far too low.  The minimum working level is - 8.0 dBmV and minimum SNR is 35  dB.  Only the first two channels currently meet those minimums.  Source could be a broken connector at the overhead tap or a waterlogged cable to your home.  If the drop cable to your home runs through a tree, chances are the protective jacket has worn away and rain penetrated  the cable.

There is infact a tree line of pine that the cable runs through, I've often thought for years a lot of my problems with my previous provider came from those trees. I am kind of at a loss for that as the city does not want to remove the trees and I don't want to end up with a fat bill for ripping out power lines. The branches stem through the cables so its very likely there is some wear on one of them.

We are coming out of Winter here in Wisconsin so moisture getting into the lines is a very likely problem. I'll see if I can convince the tech that comes on site Monday to take a look at the line and determine if there needs to be a change.
