Motorola DOCSIS 3.1 modem in bridge mode

Trying to get some help on how to put my Motorola DOCSIS 3.1 in bridge mode so I can do port forwarding from an ASUS router. After a long wait with Spectrum tech support, they said that it can be done by putting the ASUS router (not the Motorola modem) in bridge mode??? Has anyone tried to do this? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the Spectrum Community.
The steps vary with different models of modems. If you own your modem you would reach out to the manufacturer or look at the manual. If you lease the modem from us please provide us the model of the modem and we can see what we can tell you.

what specific modem/router do you have.
If it's a spectrum supplied gateway, ie a modem/router supplied by Spectrum, you can just ask Spectrum to put it in bridge mode. This effectively disables the router functionality, and turns the gateway into a modem. You can then purchase your own router and have it supply your wi-fi and port forward to your hearts desire.
which device do you have?

Thanks for your help. I asked Spectrum to bridge the modem. So far so good. Thanks again.
