SMTP and IMAP settings
I've tried everything I can think of, read, or ask about, including the help fora. My Thunderbird settings no long handshake with Charter.com. I think IMAP might be okay, but SMPT is not. Every time I try a new fix, I get a different error message, although now they are whittled down to about 4. I'm ready to abandon Thunderbird, though I like its features more than any other provider's. Thanks for clear direction ... if there is any.

Are you able to access your E-mail via Webmail ? You can click test at: http://bit.ly/2RocRea. You can also confirm the settings email server settings at: http://bit.ly/2UqCrRz. If you are still having trouble please let us know.
@Jenweil I've been using Thunderbird with Spectrum (previously Time Warner) for years now and it works perfectly. For reference, see my Thunderbird (version78.6.0) configuration below. Hope this helps

Authentication method: Normal password
Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings

Authentication method: Normal password
