Spectrum App Buffers... I have spectrum Internet

I have the Spectrum TV App for iOS and it plays fine when I use it on my iPad or iPhone without buffering. However once I use Chromecast it will buffer every few minutes.

I’ve already tried resetting my modem and router and have followed all of the steps, such as uninstall the app, etc.

I’ve done multiple speed tests when the issue occurs and when I use the speed test on your site the download was constantly over 200 mbps with about 20 mbps upload. So, I find it hard to believe that it is internet speed.

I’ve also tried from my laptop from the Spectrum website and had the same issue when using Chromecast.

All my other streaming apps do not have this issue when using Chromecast (Netflix). I had used YoutubeTV package with pretty much all the same channels and never had buffering issues with that service. I had Spectrum for Internet with the same equipment and speed at the time. So, it seems like it is the app / website or infrastructure.

At this point I am frustrated beyond and looks like many people had this issue and none of the Spectrum replies we any encouraging. Its quite pathetic actually. Was hoping this would work, but I want to be able to watch sports without constant buffering when watching on my TV. Help me fix it or I will have to ask to cancel and happily will put bad reviews of the app on sources so other people dont have to go through this.

    Hello @vvarada and welcome to the forums!

    I am wondering if there is some wireless interference going on there when this is happening Have you checked any router settings to see if anything can be adjusted such as the channel that the WiFi is broadcasting on to see if that changes anything?

    Are you using the 5Ghz network when using the Chromecast?

    Yes and yes. All this trouble shooting has been done. Mind you we have hulu, Youtube TV etc and it doesnt happen with them. This has been frustrating aspect of Spectrum app since we started paying for it. My TV and chromecast as right next to the router. Your Spectrum folks 2-3 months ago came and upgraded our router etc. Upon search of this issue so many people have complained about Spectrum app.... so I am confident it is your app. I have been paying $40 for this app for months and I am at a point I want to save that money. Hope you all can help me or send a techinician over. The worst bandwidth I have seen is 60-70 Meg downloads otherwise 150-200 normally. So that is not an issue either.
