201 recorder box has rec red light on,nothing I set up is recording

Is it normal for red light to be on face of box…new customer for this box

    Not sure about the red light. But I would call Spectrum to let them know your box is not recording. Sometimes DVR codes can be missing from the account preventing the recordings. Spectrum can re-activate your box over the phone to your account so that your DVR codes are ready.

    If your box fails to record after speaking to the CSR, a service call will need to be scheduled.
