How to improve buffering and freezing on Spectrum app on Apple TV 4K?

We're experiencing frequent buffering and freezing problems on the Spectrum app on Apple TV 4k connected to the modem with an ethernet cable. Streaming services don't seem to be a problem. A technician came three weeks ago and he added a splitter to the coax (after dropping a few F-bombs) and the problem has become worse. The buffering became more frequent and now the picture and sound freezes and we're getting frequent flash frames.

    Welcome to our community! I'm sorry to hear about the app issues. I just wanted to get a little more information from you to know what the best steps would be. Does this happen on any channel you try to watch or just one? Also, has any of the equipment been rebooted at all since the tech was out?
