Will my land line phone work at my new address?

I spoke with an agent recently about my upcoming move. I have a landline phone with a modem that connects to three extensions. In my new house I found some kind of modem in the basement (Arris) that has a phone logo on it. The agent said he wasn't sure it was even provided by Spectrum or if they would support it.

    Hello,

    As Spectrum automatically includes their own modem with Voice (Landline) and Internet service, you will be given an up-to-date modem. You won't need the one in your basement.

    Thanks, Satch. I received the impression from the agent that this will be a self-install of services (Internet, phone and TV). I wish I knew what to do.

    @debodun

    Call Spectrum and ask to speak to a "Moving Specialist" agent, minimally within two weeks of your move. If you are staying in-state, you may be able to retain the same account number. If you are moving out of state, probably not. Spectrum will begin the process of transferring and or installing your new services.

    I would suggest discussing with them a transfer date from your old residence to your new residence. This is to make sure that you are not cut off from services at your old place too soon! Ask the agent to put these notes on your account, and ask for his/her contact information. He/she should be able to help you through this transition.

    Thanks for the advice. I am moving next week, so maybe I waited too long.

    @debodun,

    You should still be OK. Call Spectrum with any questions relating to your services.
