Got a new modem a couple months back. Starting about 2 weeks ago I noticed I was not getting voicemail alerts. When I did check my voicemail I had 20 messages. Called the repair, reps on the phone did not know what I was talking about and ineffective. Scheduled and sent a repair tech. He looked at me and said "you called us for THAT?" Um, yes. Anyway he reset the modem and phone and it did then work, alerting me I had a voicemail when he called and left one. He left. I cleared out his voicemail HOWEVER the voicemail indicator AND the "stutter dial tone" remain to the time of this writing, some 5 days later.

So, I still never know if I have voicemail waiting.

Hi @kelleyelectric, welcome to our community!

Sorry for the trouble with your voicemail. Have you tried rebooting your modem again? If you dial *98 does it say you have no unheard messages?

    Hi William

Yes tried rebooting the modem, both before the tech came and after, to no avail. By rebooting you mean unplugging and plugging back in I assume. Dialing *98, If I have new messages it will say so, and I can them retrieve them. If I have no new messages, it will say so. I have disabled the PIN entry which does help because all I have to do to check is dial *98. However the indicators, both the icon on the phone, and the stutter dial tone, are omni present now saying I have new messages and when I dial *98 it says You have no new messages. Makes sense since I had no calls overnight.

Thanks for verifying. The next step to resolve this issue would be to rebuild your voicemail box. Unfortunately we are not able to process this here. I recommend calling 1-855-707-7328 and ask to have your voicemail box rebuilt, they can do this by removing the voicemail service from your account and then adding it back on. Please note that any saved voicemails and settings will be lost.

I will try that thanks. It would be nice if the tech support people knew of this step.
