splitter question

I have a question hope this community can help :), there is a 4 way splitter on the outside of my house, the cable goes from the service post outside to the splitter, then another cable from the splitter to the inside of the house into the modem from the wall plate. We have no cable tv nor house phone, is the splitter needed at all since we have no cable tv nor home phone? Is it possible to just connect the cable from the outside service post straight into the cable going to the modem? I hope I explained this well.

Yes replace it with a male to male coupler. Is your question more about the looks or to fix issues? Over the years when I have had issues Charter/Spectrum techs have been very conscientious about replacing cable, replacing old splitters, removing unused cable and splitters with no charge. If have any outlets that you want to keep but have nothing connected you should buy some 75 Ohm terminators. They help reduce electrical inductance (AKA noise) you may pick up. Hope I helped. Good luck.

Thank you for your help :) it's more of if the splitter is not needed to just not use it lol, I noticed not using the splitter I get better speeds :) I will definitely check out the 75 ohm terminators :) but you have been an awesome help.
