My mom is disabled and watches cable tv all the time. Channel 52, food network just disappeared. I see it on the internet tv. Is it a new channel on cable now?

    Hello @J_O !

Welcome to our Community! Is the channel completely gone, or replaced by another channel? I would search for the channel in your guide using the search keyboard to see if it has moved to a new location. Does your Mom watch TV on a traditional cable box? Additionally what service level do you subscribe to from Spectrum?

You can also provide your zip code, and a moderator can check on the status of that channel for you.

Hello, I’m having the same issue. The food network channel through the cable box is listed in the guide with programming shown but when you go to the channel it is infomercials. If you access the food network through the Spectrum app via Wi-Fi. The food network actually shows the scheduled food network programming. Why is the cable box not showing the food network programming?

    Hello! @Calypso and @kchpmh076

Thank you for your posts. I checked into this and there are no current issues with the Food Network. Have you tried to reboot your cable boxes to see if that changes anything at all?

I did reboot and it didn’t change but about 15 minutes ago, food network programming came back on and paid commercials stopped. Thank you.

    Hi Everyone,

I am almost sure that Food Network was not or is not doing shows 24/7. A lot of stations will do infomercials between midnight to 6am. Some may stretch that 6am spot to longer as the infomercials are part of a station's ad revenue.

Has anyone else checked their guide and notice this change in Food Network programing? Note that I have not. If others around the country are seeing this change on Food Network, where shows are not starting til mid morning and it is different than it used to be than before, this was a decisions made by Scripts Network, who owns Food Network. Neither Spectrum, nor any other vendor has control over programing. (They just get the rights to broadcast the channel.) The stations make the decisions on what programs to show.

Having the same issue again this morning. The guide shows normal food network programming but it’s actually showing paid commercials. Also, if you go to the spectrum app, it is actually showing the food network programming. So the issue is the cable box only. I have reset the box also and still paid commercials playing.

    Hello All,

For those having this issue, post your zip code and the make and model of your cable box. Also, for those with this issue, are you running the new Spectrum Guide? To find the guide you have if you don't know, Google search, "What guide do I have?", Spectrum Your first Google Search result will be a Spectrum site where you can go to that site and enter your street address and zip to see the cable guides that are in your area.

My suspicion is that this is not a box issue, but in some areas, the signal for Food Network is being outputted incorrectly and people are seeing an infomercial

Spectrum needs at least three people to escalate an issue's priority status. So if you are having this issue with Food Network please post in the forum. Check with neighbors and friends to see if they have the issues as well. If you guys rebooted your boxes and you are still having the issue, something else is going on with this problem that is not box-related. You can also call Spectrum to let them know you are affected by this issue.

Update: No problems here in Metro Milwaukee Wisconsin. "The Kitchen" is showing on my ODN guide/Cisco 9865 box as of 12PM (CST) November 20, 2022. The program in the time grid cells and when tuned to the actual channel (66) in my area.is correct.

@kchpmh076 it sounds like your cable receiver tuner is getting Food Network’s west coast feed while the guide is showing the east coast feed schedule. If so, there’s a 3-hour later offset so this morning’s paid programming would have run from 6—9 A.M. instead of 3—6 A.M. Central Time. I wonder if your Spectrum cable channels 52 & 162 are both doing that. I would expect so but you could check and see just for kicks.

    Hey, good observation @HT_Greenfield,

Check what he suggested if you are having problems with Food Network showing infomercial programing when tuned to the channel rather than the time grid show data. Channel mapping data should be the same if Food Network is on multiple stations. I would check anyway.

Possible problem for Food Network in some areas:

"Tuned station may be showing west coast feed schedule, while time grid cell data is east coast feed programing."
