Only getting 500mb download speed on internet Gig+ plan?

Hello everyone I have internet Gig+ plan, I purchased a wifi 6 network adapter that goes 500mb on the 2ghz band and 1200mb on the 5ghz band it is brand TP-link, I verified in windows 11 that I am connected to the 5ghz band I also checked and windows 11 says my wifi network adapter's speed is 1.2gbps so far everything on my end checks out but when I run a speed test I only get 500mbps download speed. I have not tested my download speeds via ethernet because the router and modem are not in the same room as the computer.
But my main question is does my spectrum provided wifi 6 router's wifi cap out at 500mb download speed?
if I buy my own wifi 6 router and use that instead of the spectrum provided one will my download speeds skyrocket?
any help is appreciated before I spend money on a new router :D thank you everyone for your help <3 :3

Not bad at all if you ask me but what's the model name or code of the router? Also, what does the WLAN adapter most often show for its connected Tx Rate, PHY Mode, & MCS Index?
thank you so much for your help I want to say that my internet is working great! I can stream movies and game online without a hiccup but my speeds are half of what I'm paying for, I'm wondering if it's my router and if there is anything I can do to increase my download speeds
at the bottom of my router it says: SAX1V1K it also says this on the side of the router, the HW version is 7.2 and has a serial number / mac address if you need those let me know.
I also have no idea what tx rate, phy mode or mcs index means but here is a picture of my wifi adapter properties and a picture of my wifi download speed test
Well i figured out the problem my usb wifi 6 adapter uses usb 3.0 which can only transfer 600mbps :(
My compliments to you for wringing that out and sharing the info❗️
