How can I pause and rewind live TV using the Spectrum TV app?

I have a Cisco 9865HDC_2 DVR-HD, there is a random message light showing on the box. I can not figure out how to access the message for it to go away.

The below is from our support page for your DVR:
Spectrum sends messages to announce new services, special promotions or other important information. If you receive a message, an envelope icon will appear in the upper-left hand corner of your TV screen, and a red light will appear on your receiver.
To view Messages:
Press the Menu button on your remote control, then select the Menu category.
Select Messages, then scroll through the list of your messages.
Press A to open and read a message of your choice.
Press B to delete a message.
Press Exit to return to live programming.

Thank you for your quick response! I've followed your directions, but when I go to Menu there is no separate menu category. My options when I click on the menu button are: search, guide, my library, tv shows, movies, video store, apps, settings and support. When I go to settings and support, my choices are: accessibility (closed captioning, secondary audio, & guide narration), support (support videos), preferences (favorites, guide settings, audio & video, caller id, & digital receiver), parental controls (parental controls, purchase controls, & on demand lock), dvr settings (show recording alerts & available storage), and account overview (account info, equipment info, system info, & terms and conditions). I've gone through most of these and can not find messages anywhere! Any further direction would be greatly appreciated.
Go into Guide Settings and turn off In Guide Promotions if it's turned on.
I take that back! In Guide Promotions are a good thing. The one i’m getting right now is announcing on-demand availability of all 12 episodes of the first season of the 1990’s sitcom Mad About You courtesy of Spectrum Originals which is a good thing for subscribers to know! The new Spectrum Guide software running on a Cisco STB is something i can only speculate about. Instead of turning off In Guide Promotions, you could just select and view the promotion when you come across it and see if that clears the message indicator on the box. Otherwise check the DVR event history or maybe rebooting it would do the trick.
Viewing the promotions didn't get rid of it. Once I rebooted it, the symbol went away. Should've done that from the beginning. Thank you for your help!
