Guide narration on but no sound on tv

When I turn guide narration on I have no sound from tv program, nor do I have sound from the guide narration. When I turn guide narration off, the sound from the TV program will work but no guide narration (which I would expect).
This started happening a day ago. Prior to this issue, I had guide narration on and had TV sound from the program and the guide.
I called Spectrum and they could not fix the issue and was told to replace the box. This is the second time this occurred and the second time I will be replacing the box. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you correct it.

Welcome to the Forum. I don't think that this is a box issue, as this is the second box you have had with the same issue. My suspicion is that some programs do not provide Guide Narration. while others do. You would want Guide Narration "off" as the default. If the Guide Narration is not offered for that program, the sound will be muted.
Can you provide for us a specific program that had Guide narration and now does not? Also have you tried rebooting the box to see if that helps? Happy Holidays!
The problem is not program specific. It occurs on every program we try. Also we did reboot the box several times and it still occurred. I just got a new box and the problem is resolved. So I guess it is box specific. Have we just been unlucky with the boxes we've had?
Please submit your city, state, and zip code, along with the make and model of your box. I would also recommend that users try Navigation Mode on Spectrum Guide and post the results. Do the rest of you get sound when Navigation mode is turned on or not?
West Middlesex, Pa 16159 - the box we just got is a Spectrum 210. Just to be clear, originally we had sound with Guide Narration on. Then it goes off. The first box we had the guide narration and tv sound volume were on for over a year before it stopped working. The second box we had it worked for about 2 months before it suddenly stopped. We've had this box for 3 days now and it's still working.
It seems as if there must be some setting in the box that gets randomly changed and neither tech support or us can figure out what it is.
