Recording DVR Programs while watching.

Our DVR seems like a dinosaur in regards to the features it offers. We can record two programs at the same, but it REQUIRES us to be watching one of those same channels/programs being recovered. It defeats the whole purpose of recording.

Is there updated equipment available to us?

    Welcome to the Forums, @Z245,

You can try to get a World Box. It is distinguished by not having a clock on the front panel, 4 tuners, instead of 2 tuners, and 1 TB of storage. Not all markets have them. But they will give you the ability to record more programs at once.

As a small work-around - you can install the Spectrum app on Roku (or similar stick), which gives you access to all the live TV channels. Thus the 'dinosaur' can be recording two programs while you watch a third channel on the app.

I know the feeling. I went from a six-channel tuner box from Comcast to the Spectrum supplied Arris DCX3520e-M. We moved, had no choice.
