Remote Control Rwd and Fwd Stop

Why is it that one winds back or goes forward that it will not stop at the place selected? If one rewinds or fast forwards on '4' as an example, it does not stop at the point selected, but leaps forward or backward '4' places.

Hello @wnybigblue Welcome to the Forum!
The reason why the FF/RW buttons don't stop at the exact location by design of the software. One of Spectrum's older guides, but most popular, found in legacy TWC/Brighthouse Networks markets, is called ODN, and had a feature called "DVR Compensation." This is a feature that would really benefit customers who don't have it on their guides.
DVR Compensation allows customers to compensate for how far the DVR should go back following a Rewind situation, or go forward from a Fast Forward situation when hitting play. (Times might not be exact.) This is a setting that can be adjusted on the ODN Guides:
More Compensation: Allows users to go back 10 seconds when coming out of RW/FF.
Less Compensation- Allows users to go back 5 seconds when coming out of RW/FF
None- Plays the DVR directly from the point at which it came out of RW/FF.
The purpose of DVR Compensation is to allow users with slow reaction time the ability to go back a few extra seconds when coming out of RR/FF. with a setting that they choose. ODN is the only guide that has this feature. Spectrum Guide needs DVR Compensation. This feedback should be forwarded to the Spectrum Guide Developers as a feature request!

Thank you. By 'guide' do you mean the receiver settings menu? If so, the Spectrum 200 DVR does not have it and it would be a software update that would be welcome.

Yes @wnybigblue,
If DVR Compensation comes to Spectrum Guide, it would be in the Settings menu. Can the mods please forward a request for DVR Compensation, found in ODN, to be added to Spectrum Guide and send this feedback to the Spectrum Guide Development Team?

If you're using the SR-series Spectrum Remote with a Spectrum Worldbox running Spectrum Guide, try the button with the word BACK on it. During on-demand playback, at least, at any speed, forward or reverse, it reverts to regular play with a 10-second jump-back and each hit during regular play elicits a 10-second jump-back as well.
