New equipment doesn't allow forwarding through the program

Spectrum sent us a new device and told us our current DVR would stop working by today. I've installed the new equipment and so far my mom says recorded programs don't allow her to rewind or forward through the program. Also it means all the recorded programs on the previous DVR are lost. Feeling very dissatisfied.😠

Is the new device a new cable box DVR? You should call Spectrum to have them apply the DVR codes to your account. On a self-install, those codes might be missing. Ask the CSR to re-activate your DVR, letting him/her know that you can't RW/FF shows.
