Using Spectrum app with Samsung Smart TV. I can not use number pad on remote control

Using Spectrum app with Samsung Smart TV and I can not use the remote's number pad to change channels. I saw a similar question and answer that said the Spectrum App does not recognize signals from the remote. I got a similar answer when I called Spectrum Support this morning. Both responders said they would pass along to development the request.

I am having a 'DUH' moment! The only reason I can think as to why the function is not available is to lease more cable boxes. Google TV supports this! I guess it's time!

    No sweat, man. Google TV or not, channel number tuning is for the RF channelization of any connected cable or satellite or broadcast TV box or antenna rather than streaming apps per se.
