I don't like the fact that every time I turn on my TV now, the cable box defaults to Spectrum News instead of the last channel I had it in. It may seem like no big deal, but it's an example of how their focus is self-serving and not customer-centric. I also don't like that their remote doesn't have a stop button. So, when you're playing back a recording, if you want to stop it before it plays all the way to the end, you have to hit exit, which takes you back to live TV rather than to your list of recordings so that you can easily delete the recording or go to a different one. That's my input. Doubt they'll pay any attention, but on the off chance it helps future customers, thought I'd try. I'm switching back to AT&T Y-Verse, even though they pissed me off by going woke and cutting One America News!

    Hi @Leenjend21, welcome to our community!

    The power on channel is just a setting. While our news channel is the default, you can change the power on channel for most guide versions to stay on the last channel viewed instead.

    All of our remotes have a way to stop or pause. Do you have the Spectrum Guide Remote? If so the play button is also the pause button, it just toggles back and forth. If you want to go to see your recordings there is a DVR button, or you can use the back button if that was the last screen you were on.
