Cannot record from Mobile device

I wanted to record a TV show on my home TV from my mobile device. It will not let me. I called and spoke to a Spectrum rep and he said I cannot record a show on my home TV from my mobile device because my DVR boxes are NEW and I need the older ones to record. Does that make sense?

    Welcome to Community Forums! Traditional DVR customers who add cloud DVR (cDVR or cDVR Plus) will lose the ability to schedule recordings on their traditional DVR remotely via the Spectrum TV App (STVA) or Spectrum.net and must record on cDVR when scheduling recordings remotely.
