Spectrum email

I am inundated with spam email with my Spectrum email address. I have a Gmail account I don't use as much but it does not have this issue. For the Spectrum account, I take full advantage of marking them as Spam or even Blocking the sender, but the same general spam or unwanted emails keep coming. Does Spectrum's email filtering not work or is there something else I can do short of changing my email address?
