If Sling TV can pause a program, why can't Spectrum TV?

I just signed up for the 30 day trial of Spectrum TV. I use ROKU devices for streaming.I still have Sling, and have used it for a long time. I can tune in to Fox News or any other Sling program and pause the program using the ROKU Pause function. This does NOT work to pause the program using the Spectrum App.

Why, tell me why, if Sling can provide this, why can't Spectrum????

    Hello and welcome to the Spectrum Community.

    The ability to pause live TV and rewind or fast forward it is not something that is currently supported on the Spectrum TV app. There is no information as to if or when this capability will become available. As to why other companies can and we cannot the most basic answer is that there is different programming and software.
