We are trying to watch the Olympics on Ch 784. It is horrible. Highly pixilated. It comes and goes.

Also, for weeks, on Guide, we have MANY channels that say "To Be Announced', including channels 784, 786, 787, 788, 790. All are important channels for us. ALSO, THESE CHANNELS DONT RECORD WHEN PROGRAMMED TO RECORD.

    Hi & welcome!

Can you try restarting the cable box(es) and let us know if the issue continues?

Hello John, Welcome to our Community!

How are you watching TV? Regular Cable Box? DVR? Xumo Streaming Box, Spectrum app? I would do the following:

1.) Power off your TV and box.

2.) Unplug your TV and box (If you have a surge protector, switch off the main switch, you can leave that plugged in.)

    3.) Unplug your Internet Modem.

4.) Wait for five minutes for all data to clear out of each device.

5.) Reconnect your modem, wait for it to boot up again.

6.) After that, reboot your box. After the box has rebooted, turn on your TV.

7.) If the problem is still on those channels, or comes back, you have a signal or drop line problem. In this case, you will need to call Spectrum to set up a service call for a "signal and drop line test,"

8.) Have the tech take a signal reading of your problematic channels:

784, 786, 787, 788, 790. All are important channels for us. ALSO, THESE CHANNELS DON'T RECORD WHEN PROGRAMMED TO RECORD. (Let the tech know this.)

Years ago, we had pixilation on our TV just as you describe and channels that would not record. The tech came out to check our signals and drop line, and found that our main drop line was 30 years old! (We have had CATV since 1985.) He replaced the line and actually rewired the whole house including the connective outlets, which were the same age, and we have not had pixilation or missed recordings since.

Please note that replacing equipment will do nothing if your lines and signals are bad. Aging wiring, storms in the area, animal chews, can all cause corrosion of your cable wires and lines. You will need a service call to check your lines and signals, if the rebooting of equipment does not work, or the issue returns after the reboot of equipment.
