How to adjust the voice guidance volume level

How do i adjust the volume level of the accessibility voice guidance? It is terribly loud and seems to be non-adjustsble. This is terribly awkward for the blind user since the voice of the voice guide narrator is blaring. I looked in the settings and see there's a voice guidance speed adjustment, but there seems to be lacking a voice guidance volume level - the loudness of the voice guidance.

This volume level I'm referring to definitely needs to be added if it's not part of the zumo accessibility system.

The voice guide volume does not adjust with the remote control volume control - it is locked at a blaring level. The voice guidance is used by a blind user.

Hello and welcome to the Spectrum Community!

I do apologize for the issues with the voice guidance you are having. Is the issue only within the Spectrum TV app or on the Xumo device in general?

The issue were experiencing is with the Xumo device in general. There should be a setting that allows the user to choose the desired loudness of the voice guidance. The way it is now, the blind user could be watching TV at a desired volume level and have the voice guidance blare twice as loud when a channel is changed. There should be a setting next to the preferred voice guidance speech rate that allows the user to choose the volume level they wish the voice guidance to speak at (Low, medium-low, medium, medium-high, high). There's no setting for the voice guide volume. It blares twice as loud as the TV broadcasts' volume.

I'm trying to teach a blind person how to use xumo voice guidance.

Instructions say to press the settings button twice. When I press twice the only screen that comes up is the settings screen. It's the same screen that comes up if the settings button is pressed once.

When the settings screen does open, the accessibility menu is 2 icons to the right. After clicking on this accessibility icon 2 ro the right, the voice guidance box is 6 boxes down.

This maze of boxes Is practically impossible for a blind user to navigate to turn on voice guidance.

Also, when the voice guidance box is finally checked, there's no voice that says it's on.

The suggestion I have is for the programmers to code the zumo to automatically turn on voice guidance by pressing and holding the remote control's setting button.

Is there an easier way to get to the voice guidance feature for a blind user?

I am not seeing information specific to Xumo, but I did include a link to Spectrum Guide Settings: Accessibility, in case there is information useful to what you are looking to accomplish.

If you still need assistance, I would recommend using our Chat With Us assistant for Accessibility Assistance or call  (844) 762-1301 to speak with a Disability Support representative. They should be able to provide answers to your questions.

Let us know how it goes!
