Hello,
is the Arris G54 modem router (WIFI 7) approved by Spectrum? There is the Spectrum logo on the box but it is not listed as an approved modem on the Spectrum website. However, earlier this year, it seems to me that the G54 was on the list, so I'm not sure why it disappeared.

    Hi & welcome!

Like any other technology, modems can become outdated. The G54 is currently not listed as an approved modem, which usually happens when network testing determines that the device is not capable of providing optimal speeds.

If you are experiencing connectivity issues, we recommend replacing the device. You can obtain a modem at a local Spectrum store for no monthly fee. The equipment would just need to be returned if you decide to stop using it or cancel the account.

Looking at your account details, it looks like the modem you are using was previously Spectrum approved for speeds up to 300Mbps, however you are subscribed to 50Mbps, so you are not able to get your full speeds with your current modem.

I've included a link to Authorized Modems to Use on the Spectrum Network, in case you decide to replace the modem. Keep in mind, if you replace the equipment, you will need to call in to have the new equipment added to your account before it will work correctly.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

For now, I'm thinking about getting the Motorola MB8611 and get a Wifi 7 mesh, since the G54 is not officially approved. To activate the modem, can I do it online or do I have to call you? Last time, the online activation didn't work (but it was probably because I had to split the phone and internet on two different devices) and I had to call, that's why I'm asking.

Since you're using your own equipment, we would need to add it to the account and activate it for you. This can be done by phone at 855-707-7328 or if social media would work better, we can activate it there as well. We can be reached on Twitter/X, Instagram, or Facebook.
