My Internet drops every morning at exactly 6:48 AM for about 1-2 minutes

Riddle me this:

Every morning at exactly 0648 my internet connectivity drops out. Mind you, I am an IT Engineer, so I have lots of info to give in my troubleshooting.

I have a Ubiquiti Edge Router X and my Spectrum EU2251 is in bridge mode. The router works fine and I can watch it drop signal in the router when this happens. When it does, my public ip switches to 192.168.100.10 and then after that 1-2 minute period pops back to the public IP.

I am running PRTG and I get no unusual or warnings on anything else in my entire network except for my internet sensor which is set to www.google.com.

So I surmise it must be something in either the modem or that Spectrum is doing on an automated schedule and I am trying to find out what this is or how I can change it. I don't mind, but I am up on my system every day at that time. So just changing it to say 0400 would be just fine.

And everything works great so i am not complaining, I just want to see about solving this maintenance window mystery.

Hi @Cougarx1, welcome to our community!

Problems that happen at a specific time are often caused by things on a timer causing interference. For example, street lights may be turning off or sprinklers turning on. I recommend first testing if it still happens with just one device plugged straight into the modem with an ethernet cable. If it does, consider what you have in your home that may be coming on/off at that time, especially anything sitting close to the modem or wires. If there's nothing of yours which can be isolated to resolve the issue, the next step would be an appointment with a Spectrum technician.
