I can receive emails, but can not send them. I have a ca.rr.com address.

Using pop-server.ca.rr.com on port 110 and smtp-server.ca.rr.com on port 587 with thunderbird.

I'd forget about what's happening with any sub email address in any email client app until i was able to literally log onto to the webmail portal with it and could literally send and receive therein. Otherwise i'd log onto the selfcare portal with the primary email address and see what the status of the sub account/address is and, if it's locked, see if i could unlock it.

Furthermore, i'm afraid the number of sub addresses per account is now limited to four but you supposedly wouldn't lose access to any prevailing email address as long as it remains active. Who knows if that means literally logging onto the webmail portal with the email address and furthermore literally sending and/or receiving and opening messages therein, but the timeout is supposedly six months. I furthermore take it that one of the implications is that you wouldn't be able add any subs unless all but three at the most were entirely gone from every way, shape or form of existence.

    Hello @rtayek

Welcome to our Community Forums! Sorry to hear that you're unable to send emails, I am happy to help! Are you only having this issue via Thunderbird? Have you tried logging into your email via spectrum.net/My Spectrum app and sending yourself an email?

the webmail at https://webmail.spectrum.net/mail#email works fine. seems to read my main email and some others. also, i can send to myself.

in tbird, can receive mail, but can not send on this account. i get a: "Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again."

sending fails when sending from a gmail account to a gmail account. seems like sending faiils no matter which account i use.

i have low vision, so i could be doing something wrong.

    thanks

Open up your default outgoing server settings and make sure secure auth as well as SSL/TLS (or STARTTLS) are enabled. Otherwise do the same with mail.twc.com and make that one the default and see what happens.

    Otherwise overhaul the whole megillah:

i tried a few things with mail.twc.com and ports, but no luck. i have 8 sub accounts, so i can not add a new one to ttry experiemnst on. https://community.spectrum.net/discussion/175106/why-am-i-unable-to-add-or-delete-roadrunner-sub-user-accounts

one has been pending delete for many months. the other i just tried to delete, so the only only options are to restore.

i have a legacy account (30 years old).

i seem to have gotten the sending to work with:

    so that is some progress.

some of the sub-accounts can send.

seems like i need a different password for my old rr self care. maybe it has not migrated yet. it's only been a few days ā€¦

oops, i sent the wrong pic. that was the pop, not the smtp.

i did get the original account to work with mail.twc. 587 starttls normal password.

this does not seem to work for sub-accounts made later. the sending just hangs.

seems like all of the passwords for sub-accounts do no work.

how do i change the passwords for the sub accounts?

    thanks
