Has the ability to disable Mobile Access Points been removed?

I'm having issues getting Chromecasts to connect and stay connected to the Spectrum router. The router shows them connected but I can't connect to those devices since laptops and cell phones don't recognize them. I read that one fix may be disabling Mobile Access Points but I don't see that option any longer in the latest version of the Spectrum app (Android). It should be a toggle under Router / Advanced settings but now I only have toggles for UPnP and Security Shield.

Any idea how I can disable Mobile Access Points to see if that fixes the issue. It's apparently related to AP Isolation. I already have UPnP enabled.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I did. The agent didn't have a solution but did schedule a technician visit but I would still like to know how to disable mobile access points.

Hey @rhw80. It looks like your router just doesn't have a mobile access point which is why the setting is missing in the app. Your connection issue must have another cause.

Some issues could arise from having both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi broadcasting under the same network name. I see you have multiple Chromecasts and laptops, and it's mixed which network they are on. Could you test a Chromecast and laptop or phone you are certain has 5Ghz, and test while close to/in the same room as the router to prevent band steering and rule out any WiFi coverage issues?

As a follow up, the tech didn't know how to disable mobile access points but he removed the Wifi 6E router and installed the Wifi 6 router. He said the 6 doesn't support mobile access points. We can now access all of the Chromecasts and Roku in the house. Problem solved.
