    My wife just purchased a new laptop and cannot connect to the internet. It asks for the security code which is used but could not connect

It sounds like the laptop may be asking for a security key, which is essentially the Wi-Fi password located on the router, or if you have personalized your Wi-Fi name and password, it would be the password you have set it to be.
