Known buffering issues with the Spectrum TV streaming app during playback of a recorded program?

This problem started mid-November. It appears that the Apple TV Spectrum app was updated around 11/9/24 and the Apple iPhone Spectrum app was updated 11/14/24. The same problem occurs on both devices.

When playing back a TV show recorded in the Spectrum TV app, the content will disappear and a buffering gif appears a few minutes into the program. It mostly occurs when fast forwarding through the program, but sometimes it will just start buffering when watching. My Internet speed is about 500/500 or even higher. The buffering does not occur on any other streaming app — YouTube, Paramount+, Peacock, Amazon, Netflix, PBS, Max, STARZ, Fox Sports, Disnty+, Hulu, etc… I do not believe the problem is with my Internet speed, but instead is with the Spectrum app.

In the Apple TV version of the Spectrum app, if I exit the buffering screen in the Spectrum app and go back and select "resume", it takes me to the last spot before the glitch, plays for a second, and then immediately starts buffering again. It happens on multiple TV shows recorded by the Spectrum app. I have tried starting the glitchy program from the beginning, and then attempt to fast forward past the time mark where the buffering started. It works about 2 out of 10 attempts. Very frustrating. Tried to watch a football game today. No problem for 30 minutes, then the buffering started. The problem is identical on my iPhone, and the progress bar showing program progress and time marks are shared between the Apple TV and the iPhone.

We also have a Spectrum set-top box in another room, and this problem doesn't occur when the same program is recorded and played back. I previously called tech support, but they were of little help, and they assumed that it must be my Internet because there was no reported problem with the app. I am suspicious because the problem occurred around the time the Spectrum app was updated on Apple TV and iPhone, and EVERY other streaming app works just fine, and my upload/download speeds are great. This problem with buffering on recording playback has never happened with me before.

Any ideas? Any other reports like this?

    I should have noted that I uninstalled and reinstalled the Spectrum TV app on both the Apple TV and iPhone, but no change to the problem.

    This is a problem for me and a few other spectrum app friends as well. It started a few weeks ago. The screen goes black when watching a recorded program on my Apple TV and basically makes the recorded shows impossible to watch. The additional monthly charge of $10. I pay for this cDVR Plus service is a fee I should not have to pay till you fix the problem.
