Crowded Node?

Every night between the hours of 9 pm and 12 pm, my speeds drop to 1/3 of my plan. Upload speeds are good though. I have 1000 Mbps plan but at 11 PM it's barely reaching 300Mbps. Is it network congestion? If so, is there anything that can be done about it? It'll probably get worse over time.

Hi @wjhiles2024, welcome to our community!

I'm sorry to see our internet isn't consistently providing your subscribed speed. It could be caused by a congested node but that sort of problem is easily caught. Other causes could be things like radio interference getting worse during primetime, loose fittings getting looser as the temperature drops outside, other people in your home using the service at that time, etc.

Are you testing your speed using a device connected with an ethernet cable? Have you tested direct to the modem, bypassing your router? Are you testing at https://www.spectrum.com/internet/speed-test?
