Why are ALL of my computer login attempts to watch tv failing?

This has been a cascading issue; first it started a couple months ago on Firefox, and then on Chrome, and now Edge and Safari. I keep getting varied failure messages; most of them telling me to change my password. Conversely, with my same login, I am able to access my Spectrum/Charter account to view those details and access my email. These blocked login attempts are solely with the watch.spectrum.net computer access attempts. And yes, I have gone through clearing out my entire history, cookies, restarting my computer, and installing/attempting multiple browsers on different computers (Apple and Windows). Seriously… WTF??? And yes, I even changed my password as previously instructed, and the issue is spreading like a virus… or as we would say in the military, has Spectrum launched a self-inflicted denial of service attack.

    Hello @NVRMND

Welcome to our community! I know that there have been some updates that required a reinstall of the Spectrum app and the removal of old cookies and a reboot of equipment for some customers. But you have done all that and on different computers too so something is not right. Some questions:

1.) What is your TV package service level from Spectrum? (For most of the streaming plans, any Spectrum TV Select package is required.)

2.) Were you ever able to watch the streaming content without issues? How long ago was that?

3.) Any changes to your account within the last couple of months?

4.) Any changes to equipment in the last several months? Also do you own or rent your modem from Spectrum?

5.) Is the problem worse at certain times of the day or night? Or is it random?

6.) When was your last service call? Do you remember what was done?

7.) When you cleared out your cookies and cache and did all the rebooting things, did that solve the issue temporarily? or do absolutely nothing?

8.) Can you post screenshots of the services that you are trying to access, the browsers, you are using, and the hardware being used?

9.) Any viruses or malware being detected when you run a scan? I would run a full virus scan on your equipment and follow any instructions for whatever is found.

My bad if this is a stupid question: are you unequivocally deleting the entirety of the spectrum.net web data from the browser cache and then going straight to watch.spectrum.net rather then some potentially defunct bookmarked redirection URL?

I agree that this is important. In Windows and Apple systems, I would clear all temporary files. I would clear all Spectrum.com and Spectrum.net cookies and any cookies from the streams/sites like Max, Paramount+, Disney+, Peacock, and AMC+. Get cookies cleared on all those sites. Clear your cache and history as well. Than reboot your equipment, Don't just go back to the sites without a reboot first!

Make sure there is not a rogue URL someplace.
