Spectrum App - Unable to Set Startup Channel

Using Roku to watch Spectrum app on Vizio tv, I'm unable to set startup channel. I toggle the setting on and select my preferred startup - CNN (41). But when I exit and go back in, the channel remains at the last channel watched, and not the preferred startup channel. This feature works fine on our Sony tv using a Xumo box. But for some reason, it fails to work on our Vizio tvs controlled by Roku.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

Thank you! This probably explains the issue. But it's odd that I've spoken with Spectrum Tech Support and was provided no such explanation. A ticket was created to resolve the problem and I've yet to hear back.

Hey there Iwapner,
Welcome to our community page and thank you for bringing this to our attention. I was able to access the account based on the email you used for the registration process. In an effort to assist you further with this, can you please confirm if you are logged into the app via your username or via your Wi-Fi connection? To verify, you would need to navigate to the settings icon, in the top right corner of the page.

When I go to the sign out screen it says "Signed in as: " and a blank space follows. I am using my wifi connection.

I might(?) have resolved the issue in a peculiar way. After going to settings, toggling on and selecting the startup channel, I go to the square next to the settings icon, with the arrow pointed to the upper right. I click on this and I'm taken out of the app. Now, when i go back in, this appears (for now) to work properly as my chosen startup channel appears.
We'll see if this holds.

Hello @lwapner;
I reviewed the logs of our server for the Spectrum TV app and I do see a history of poor internet connection on the device. This could cause some of the data to be not to be loaded properly. I would recommend you reset the modem to refresh the connection on the Roku. You can reset the modem by unplugging the power to the modem for a minute.

On the Spectrum app menu to the far right there is a small square icon with an arrow to the upper right. I believe it's used to exit the app. But it appears to behave differently on Xumo and Roku streaming boxes as it relates to saving a startup channel.
On the Xumo box I am automatically returned to my selected startup channel no matter how I exit. Whether I return to the home screen, power off completely or use the square box to exit the app the startup channel will always come up, as desired, when I re-enter the app.
But using Roku, I must exit the app via the square box/arrow for the saved startup channel to take effect. If I exit the app by simply returning home or powering off (not using the little square) when i go back into the Spectrum app I will be sent to the last viewed channel, not my preferred startup channel.
Why do Roku and Xumo appear to handle the startup channel differently?
Thanks.

We don't have specifics on exactly why, but with differences in the app from platform to platform it's often the way that the platform functions. The app isn't always one to one when different operating systems are in play. I have a Roku TV myself and I've noticed that if I just return home or power off, for some apps it will pick up exactly where I left off bypassing even the start up or selection pages, so it's likely just how Roku caches information.
