Channel 306 just has sign off listed 24 hours a day.

I live in NE Ohio and usually watch the Guardians on channel 306. What has happened over the past week is that the listing has disappeared, and the 'Sign Off' option is now displayed. I used to have a recording set up to televise the Guardians games, now I have to record the sign-off from 12-4 to watch a 1 pm game, which means I have to fast forward an hour to start watching the game.
I have unplugged the channel selector box, but the sign-off is still displayed 24 hours a day. Any suggestions?

This past week, on channel 306, it was always listed. Now, since maybe this past Tuesday, no games are listed, just sign off

Thank you! I was able to locate your account using your community registration. I do show that you should be receiving the channel, so I've refreshed some things on our end. Can you check to see if the channel is still showing Sign Off? If so, can you please reboot the cable box by unplugging it from the power for 30-45 seconds and then checking again? Once the box is plugged back in, it will take a couple of minutes for it to fully reboot.

I wonder if this is a guide data listing error due to a third-party update with the guide that went wrong?
Gracenote-Nielson is the company that does the listing's for Spectrum guides (and other cable providers as well), I wonder if there was an update done to the listings that the listings forgot to sync in Jim's market? I would think that Spectrum should contact them and report this listing error. But this may be a condition only in that market or node.

I appreciate the additional information. I would like to send out some additional signals that may cause the box to reset. To prevent us interrupting any recordings or something you are currently watching please let us know when it would be a good time to complete these signals. ~Lyn

I have tried your advice and rebooted the cable box, but it still shows sign-off, and no Guardians game is listed. I have also tried to reboot my router, but still no luck. I have worked around it by recording sign-off when the game is scheduled. For example, the game is on at 800 EDT, so I have recorded sign-off from 8-12 this evening and will be able to watch the game
Hopefully, this gets fixed soon, as I had set the DVR to automatically record Guardians games, but alas, no Guardians games in the guide just sign-off.

Satch, I'm thinking the same thing, as all my other channels are fine, no problems. When you turn on the channel, it says Guardians Astros today at 8:05, but the schedule says sign off at that time. As I said, I'm able to get around this as I just record sign off at 8 tonight and will be able to watch the game. The glitch just started in the past week , maybe a couple of weeks for this glitch to be corrected.

Hi Jim,
What is the name of this channel? List that for reference. Is it a local Ohio Sports Channel or one of the big national networks?
Also, if you log into your account like you do at the forum here, and go to Spectrum.net, log in and go to the TV/streaming tab, and go to your channel line up, does it say "Sign Off" in the online channel guide or the actual game being shown like it used to show on your box?
This helps Spectrum or Gracenote (both actually) isolate the error to more than one medium or just that device? I will bet minimally that everyone in your node has this same issue. But being involved with cable since 1985, few customers don't report listing data unless it's something where all programing is off due to guide data glitches. Sometimes they don't want to go through a service call process for one channel, and if it is a guide data error, these things have a way of resolving themselves in a couple of weeks. I should point out that if they have a different box with a different guide, and the data is being pulled in from a different listing source, it is possible that they may not have this issue. But I am pretty sure that the boxes all pull the data in from the same source. Personally, I would not do a box swap for one channel, especially since you have a workaround.

The channel is called the CLEG channel 306, only Cleveland Guardians games are on it, and it is only available in the Guardians market, think of it working like an RSN.
Now I took your advice on the Watch Spectrum App on my TV in the bedroom, it says sign off, but I can watch the game on it. Now, if I go on my PC to watch Spectrum TV, the channel says sign off, but I get the message
Your current subscription doesn't include this title. Please give us a call at (866) 892-1235 to upgrade. WEN-1004
However, if I want to watch the game on PC, I can always use MLB TV to watch the game on my PC, as I am watching the game on MLB TV as I type this.
You are correct, I am not interested in swapping a channel box out for one channel, since last week the guide worked fine on channel 306.

Jim,
Thanks for the update! Since other sources of guide data show the "Sign off message" this is 100% a guide data listing issue and not an equipment or signal issue. Now, it's just a matter of Spectrum reaching out to Gracenote, and Gracenote also acknowledging and responding to the data bug with a fix.

Satch, and everyone who has helped, I am pleased to report that the issue has been resolved. Channel 306 is now showing Astros-Guardians at 8 tonight, and my automatic recording of Guardians games has also been restored.
Thanks again to all who have helped with this issue.
