When are you going to fix 'Record Series' to work across multiple channels like every other DVR?

IndyCar, NASCAR, MLS soccer, etc. all have events on multiple channels.

When I try to record a series that is on multiple channels, it makes me pick one channel and will only record on that channel. So, it know all the channels a series is on.

When is this going to be fixed to allow all channels? All other DVRs work this way.

An acceptable work-around would be to allow me to set up a 'Record Series' on each of the channels. But, it won't let me do that, either.

Same story with my set-top box DVR: no "all channels" heuristic. E.g., currently, i can set up the NASCAR Cup Series races on either TruTV or USA to record as a series but not both. So the catch is not necessarily specific to Cloud DVR.

Hi @pmaloney3 and @HT_Greenfield. Thanks for bringing this concern to our attention. I can definitely see the convenience of being able to schedule a recording across all channels, and I'll be happy to forward feedback about it.

You're welcome, @William_M . I salute you for your appreciation and for taking the time to raise the flag farther on up the pole!

P.S.: My bag was mainly to point out how the idiosyncrasy is apparently not peculiar to Cloud DVR for whatever that may be worth.

P.P.S.: I furthermore compliment @pmaloney3 for reasonably suggesting that, if it can't be an "all channels" heuristic, then, for sports series for which some events air live on one channel and other events air live on another or more other channels, it would be nice if one could set up channel-specific series recordings for such live events for each such channel that such live events air upon in the guise of one and the same programming series title.

Feedback on this topic to expand on a similar issue with Spectrum Guide Set Top Boxes:

    Good Morning All!

I echo these concerns. As @HT_Greenfield illustrated this is not exclusive to Cloud DVR but STB's as well Remember the old ODN guide? It had filters where you could program series for specific time slots or all channels .

ODN Guide also had the ability to select the number of episodes to keep for a series . Selections were something like 1, 3, 5, 7, 15, or all. This is helpful if you go away for a few weeks and you are watching some syndicated show that no longer airs new episodes. Being able to combine channel times and number of episodes to keep, would stop the DVR from recording everything in sight and you don't come back home to 50 episodes on your box.

Spectrum Guide does not have good series guide filtering. You can only filter by "New Episodes" or "All Episodes" No Channel filters, no "Select number of series episodes to keep" on Spectrum Guide. If you record any syndicated series that are no longer new, you get every episode under the sun until you go in and stop recording the series! Didn't the older guides before ODN even have better series filtering? Would love to hear users and employees takes on why this feedback should be added to both Cloud DVR, Xumo Streaming and box DVR.

    Good morning,

Thank you for your post, we certainly appreciate your feedback regarding our DVR and cDVR recording options. At this time, our series record is specific to the channel it is set to. I can absolutely forward this feedback to my team to consider this for potential updates in the future.

    +1 on this.

We record Formula 1 and it NEVER schedules all of the events (practice, qualifying, and race). I have to manually add the missing recordings.
