Stable Connection Problems With XUMO and Other Streaming Devices? Purchase a WI-FI Signal Booster
Good Evening!
If you have problems with Spectrum Internet Streaming and your lines are fine, you may want to invest in a WI-FI Internet signal booster/range expander. Remember that Spectrum streaming services are extremely dependent on quality lines and strong signals and are more sensitive in this regard than traditional cable boxes. I bought a WIFI signal booster from Amazon, because the laptop in my room is on the other end of the house that has my Internet equipment connected. Its' a TP Link model. It was about $40-$50 I think.
Yes, you can absolutely connect your Xumo Stream Box to a Wi-Fi signal extender to boost your signal, as it's a recommended solution for weak Wi-Fi or streaming issues in larger homes, providing a more stable connection for smooth HD/4K streaming. Just ensure the extender provides a strong, consistent signal to the Xumo box and connect to it like any other Wi-Fi network during setup by selecting its network name and entering the password.
How to Connect to an Extender:
- Set up your Wi-Fi extender according to its manufacturer's instructions to create a strong signal in the area of your Xumo box.
- On your Xumo Stream Box, navigate to Settings > Network > Network Connection (or "Choose a network").
- Select the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) that your extender is broadcasting.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted, ensuring it's case-sensitive.
- The device will test the connection and download any updates

Good afternoon!
Another option is to look at Spectrum WiFi pods:
Spectrum WiFi Pods: These are mesh WiFi extenders that use cloud-based technology to eliminate dead spots and improve internet coverage in large or complex homes, creating a single, stronger network by pairing with your Advanced WiFi service, with easy setup through the My Spectrum App. They cost about $3/month per Pod, work best when placed strategically away from interference, and can be added to your account for better whole-home connectivity.
How They Work: Spectrum WiFI Pods use Mesh Technology: Pods create a unified, self-optimizing network, not separate networks like traditional extenders, ensuring devices connect to the strongest signal.Cloud-Based: They use cloud intelligence for network management and optimization.Eliminate Dead Spots: Extend strong WiFi to hard-to-reach areas, thick walls, and large spaces.
