Xumo Remote

Very poorly designed remote. Slow to react. Not user friendly. IR only. My biggest complaint, other than having no literature explaining how to get to each feature, is the fact that you can't fix individual devices if there is a problem. If your avr fails to come on, you can't just go to devices and turn it on. Same with TV. This feature is available with even the cheapest universal remote. And it makes a difference what the buttons do depending on what screen you are on. The Harmony Elite was almost perfect. Unfortunately. it's been discontinued. And the Xumo layout makes little sense. The guide also has no channel numbers. That REALLY doesn't make any sense. Spectrum really needs to reevaluate their decision with Xumo and move forward in time. Not backwards.

Good Evening @Paydirt2t Thanks for joining the community!

You can get channel numbers on XUMO to do that you need to filter the guide to sort by channel number:

To get channel numbers in the Spectrum TV app on a Xumo Stream Box,

open the Guide, press and hold the OK button on the remote, and select the option to sort by Channel Number. You can also use the number pad on your remote to directly tune to a channel.

Tips that might speed up the Xuno Box:

    1.) Reboot of device

    2.) Fresh batteries in remote.

3.) Direct line of site between remote signal and Xumo box.

    4.) Factory reset of device.

5.) Moving Internet devices closer to box as XUMO is totally Internet dependent.

6.) The purchase of an Internet WIFI signal booster. Plug that into your XUMO for better signals TP Links. They run about $40-$50. Go to Amazon, get that brand with at least a 4.5 star review.

7.) A service call to check signals and lines.

If you are really frustrated with XUMO and have tried all this, try to back to a regular DVR box.

@Paydirt2t : If/when paired, i believe that would be via Bluetooth 5.0 rather than IR but that's just me. I'm an unfrozen caveman.

The most frustrating problem with this remote is the inability to control individual devices. For instance, if the AVR fails to come on, or the tv fails to come on, or the Xumo box fails to come on, there is no way to switch it on through the remote.

Most frustrating issue for me is that I have been unable to add the Xumo box to my LogiTech Harmony universal remote. Does anyone know of a workaround?

@Paydirt2t : Heard that. I guess that the proprietary remotes for pretty much any streaming devices lack the universality that some of the remotes for some of the set-top boxes have but if you can't get the remote that came with any device to reasonably reliably turn the device it came with on or off, then i'd consider trying to get a warranty replacement.
