I just called Spectrum to see about upgrading to the Ultra 400, which according to the on-line rate card for my area is now the next available upgrade from 100 and is only $6 more than I'm paying for (the now unavailable) 200.
So, the first thing the agent says is that 400 isn't available, only 300. At the same price as the rate card has for 400. 
OK, I say, let's do that and it will be easier (and cheaper) for Spectrum as I already have my own SB6183 modem, which is approved up to 300.
So then I'm told that there's a $49.99 installation fee, which can't be waived. Really, to flip a switch. At which point I then politely told them to ... ... ...
I really, really, really wish there was a viable alternative to these clowns.
