My XUMO cannot connect to multiple channels on the Spectrum app

I contacted XUMU support as I purchased the XUMO from Spectrum. After numerous factory resets as directed by their agent. Repeatedly, there were numerous channels thyat I attempted to watch only to be advised that it was blocked by parental control and told me to enter the Parental Control PIN. I had no PIN to enter as I had never created a Parental Control PIN.

I was finally told by the XUMO rep that this is a problem with the Spectrum App and it must be corrected by Spectrum. He said (on my third contact with them) that they have received many such complaints from Spectrum clustomers. Oddly, no one at XUMO knew about this problem until my third contact.

Is this Spectrum's problem? If so, how can I resolve this problem? The XUMO is pretty much worthless if I cannot use numerous channels.

    Thank you for clarifying! Are you able to test the Spectrum TV app on any other device like a smart phone? If so do you have the same issue with the channels? If not can you try either 0000 or 1234 for the parental control PIN?

    When you say channels are you referring to specific channels on the Spectrum TV app or other apps on the Xumo?

    Yes. I went through the Spectrum channel lineup starting with the first channel which is Spectrum News. I continued up to channel 50. There were at least ten channels that said " Blocked by Parental Control - Enter PIN". Since I had not setup any parental controls, I have no PIN to enter. I quit at Chanel 50 as there were already about 10 channels to which I can't connect.

    This is totally unacceptable.

    I did not have problems on other apps. The XUMO rep told me this is a problem unique to Spectrum and it is Spectrum's problem to fix.
