New router won’t connect??

My old router power cord was damaged beyond repair. I bought a new router to-link AC1200 AC/WI-FI 5 but it will not connect. Do I need to upgrade the modem? Or download new driver!

    May be dealing with stale cache data.. if you haven't done the power cyling routine, do that first:

    Power everything down for about 5 minutes. Then boot just the modem. Give it a couple minutes for all the lights to do their dance and come fully online.

    Then do the same for the router.

    Then bring a client online to go into the setup routine for the router to assign modes, passwords, etc. as per it's install guide.
