How to check that emergency 9-1-1 is working
Nationwide outages recently have me wondering how to test this. I have read that dialing 933 should give you a recording of the address that is "on file" for my phone (and iPhone) but dialing that gives me a recording: "We're unable to complete your call. To speak with a customer representative, please hang up and dial Star 611 [announcement three]" which is of course SM CS.
Does anyone here know how to perform a 911 test without actually calling 911?

Based on information found online, it looks like you may be able to contact your local emergency communications center non-emergency number to arrange a test call to make sure your call is successful and has the correct location information.

Yeah I guess I should try that. I'd been intrigued by the idea that I could check it "online" and not bother the call center.
