Roadrunner Email not working for sub accounts

It seems that about every six months or so our roadrunner emails pop up with a message saying credentials are needed when they have been working without problem. I had to reset my primary account password in spectrum self care and I was able to log in from mobile and computer. However when I reset the sub account user password it will not accept the new password at all. I've tried using the chat on spectrum but they have not been able to resolve the issue.

I cannot use webmail for the sub account either as it only accepts the primary user email to check messages.

My server settings and ports are correct to the guidance on the spectrum website for roadrunner email users - servers for in/out being and incoming port 993, outgoing 587. STS/… also checked (can't remember the other letters off the top of my head).

Any help appreciated.
