Why doesn't the FAV button on my remote do anything?

I have a UR3-SR3S remote and the cable box is a Cisco4742HDC. When it was installed, the technician gave me a booklet, but my remote wasn't shown in it.

    Hello,

The Favorites (FAV button) won't do anything until favorite channels are programed into the remote. Than by using the FAV button, you can use this as a shortcut to to your Favorite Channels quickly:

This link will list the guides on all of Spectrum's cable box. Find the guide on your box, and click on the support link for that guide, and it will tell you how to set up favorite channels:

https://www.spectrum.net/support/tv/which-guide-do-i-have-twc (List of CATV program guides/support)

I have also provided the link for programing your brand of remote control:

https://www.spectrum.net/support/remote/ur3-sr3mur3-sr3s ( Link for programing the UR3-SR3S remote.)

Each link has different information but both come from Spectrum's help database.
