why does blocked emails and junk continue to come into my inbox?

Have a MacBook pro and most recent iOS. When I send email to junk, a second junkman opens so I have two junk mail, then the email is also listed in the deleted folder, which I have two of also. The next day, I get the same emails coming to my inbox all over again and have to go through identifying them as junk and deleting them… I also have been given two trash cans which never have anything in them. If I inadvertently delete something, it is gone forever and not found in the trash, deleted or junk. If I delete junk, it comes back frequently from the same sender…can't seem to get rid of it. any ideas on this?

    Hello @johnrj76

Welcome to our Community Forums! Sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with blocking junk email, I am happy to help! Are you using or Webmail service via spectrum.net? Or are you using a mail client such as Mac Mail or Apple Mail?

As far as IMAP goes, while all folders should sync and, while the de facto server versus IMAP client inbox as well as drafts as well as user created folders should furthermore be automatically cross-mapped, you will typically find the de facto IMAP client versus server sent, trash/deleted, and spam/junk folders not being cross-mapped. Therefore, for example, what you delete via the IMAP client should go into its de facto deleted/trash folder and what you delete via the webmail portal should go into its de facto trash/deleted folder.

You may be able to find a way with the IMAP client app to map any such IMAP client de facto folder to the corresponding one on the server but it's rather iffy and hardly worth the trouble in the long run as far as i'm concerned.

I alternate between TWC.com and my MacBook mail version 14.0 . One the Mac I view all the folders from both…my trash and delete and junk disappeared from the "On My Mac" mailboxes. Today, the TWC is listed below with two junk, one trash and one deleted… changes whenever… I do not use smart mailboxes…

Thanks to you both for your ideas…sounds like da facts are over my head and more complicated… not sure if giving it too much more thought will increase or decrease the quality of my life… appreciate your input though…

My bad. I was referring to the usual non-user-created folders so i should have said "default" instead of "de facto." Only when any of those are mapped in the IMAP client to the corresponding one on the server will they be essentially one and the same folder via the IMAP client and the webmail portal.
