Hello , for about a week, I get a 403 Forbidden message when I try to access my webmail (roadrunner account). I have spoken to two online technicians and went to my local
Spectrum store, Nice guys at the store, but all they were useless since all they want to do is sell bundles and services. Not interested. The technicians were knowledgeable enough and gave me some things to try, but none of it has worked. I use Firefox and it is the the most recent version, I have emptied on several occasions the cache and cookies. This worked once or twice, but I think I could access the email ,but not send or receive anything. I tried another browser ( actually 2) and no luck. I am able to access via my phone and my ipad which uses safari. I noticed some on this site last month had a similar problem , but it was solved with the VPN company the person had. I do not have a VPN except what I see checked for McAfee which I have never touched to my knowledge, VERY FRUSTRATED at this point.

    Good evening @rjnemecek Welcome to our Community Forums,

    Thank you for reaching out to us about not being able to access your webmail. I am very sorry this is happening. Just to clarify, you do have access to the email using other devices just not on your computer. Is that correct? Have you checked to make sure computer is up to date on all suggested updates? Also, have you attempted to take the VPN off of your McAfee to see if this will allow the email to work? -Lyn

    @rjnemecek;

    You will want to have the McAfee turned on to protect your computer from online threats. Although it is possible that the settings are set to strict. You can go into the settings and find the site protection section. You can lower how strict it is or add an exception in for our site.

    My computer has all of its updates. I have now twice turned the McAfee VPN off and both times I have access and can send and I assume receive emails. I don't know if this got turned on inadvertently or what since I have never had this problem and never purposely did anything with the VPN. I do recall a message comes up about it on occasion. My question is if I leave this off all the time is there a vulnerability or what should I do? Thank you,

    Thank you. I went into the McAfee VPN settings. I see no specific place to lower the settings restrictions- it is an all or none, However, I do see the exemptions choice for networks, but when I press that it gives me a message that it can be done now and try later. I think try later is probably a permanent message! If I do get in, what do I put as network? I don't see this working and it will probably expedite my leaving spectrum email which I know the company will not be upset about. This has been very frustrating, but I appreciate your help.
