Why does the sound volume increase/decrease after fast forwarding/rewinding a recording? Is that a glitch?

Rephrase… Can I watch a recording before it finishes recording the TV show? If so, how? It doesn't show up as a recording right away.

Hello and welcome to the Spectrum Community.

You should be able to watch shows in the recorded list as long as it is there. If it does not show in the list yet it can't be viewed yet.

Hello! I do apologize for any issues with the volume on the Spectrum TV app on the Xumo. I am not aware of any known issues with the volume. Do you see the issues on any other device using the Spectrum TV app?

Yep. I discovered that. Any idea why it takes so long to show up? Will it be fixed in a future update?

As the app uses cloud storage it can take a bit to show up unlike a physical DVR hard drive like on a cable box.

How long is a bit… 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour? Can it be fixed?

That can depend on the connection.

I have gig internet with spectrum and use Ethernet to connect to the box (not WIFI). Is that the connection you are referring to?

Hey @thorn40! I don't know the exact version number, but your Xumo should update automatically. You can manually check for updates by going to Settings > System Management > Resets & Updates

Yes, with that kind of connection there shouldn't be much of a delay. Shows may not show up in your list of recordings if they are in progress, but you should still be able to select the show through the guide and choose to watch the in progress recording.

Thanks for the tip, but I want to be able to watch the recording from the beginning, not live (in-progress). Why does it take so long for the recording to show up in the list for viewing? Sounds like a glitch to me that needs to be fixed with an update.

    Tyleen,

In answer to your last question…

I do NOT see volume issues on any other devices using the Spectrum TV app? Sounds like another glitch to me. Can this be reported to someone who can fix it?

Viewing the in-progress recording is not the same as viewing live, you are able to start from the beginning.

Is it showing the volume change on screen or is it just an audible difference? Have you tried rebooting it by removing the power cord, or factory resetting by going to Settings > System Management > Resets & Updates > Factory Reset ?

Since the recording is very slow to show up in the recording cue, I go to live then rewind to the beginning?

There is an audible difference after rewind and/or fast-forward. I have tried all the resets you mentioned. Should I ask Spectrum for another box?

You go to the guide and select the program, you will have options to watch it live or to view the in progress recording. If you select to view recording it should start at the beginning.

Does the volume always decrease with rewind and increase with fast-forward (or vice versa), or is it inconsistent? If it's consistent, it seems most likely there is some issue with the remote and I'd recommend unpairing and repairing it. https://www.spectrum.net/support/tv/pairing-and-troubleshooting-your-xumo-stream-box-remote

Thanks. I will try your suggestion regarding the in-progress recording.

The volume issue is inconsistent. Sometimes it is less volume and sometimes it is more volume. Very annoying to say the least.
