new cable box - channel selector will not select JUST Favorites ???

I must be missing something. No one would want it to work this way.

a) established Favorites List

b) selected Favorites as default to be displayed in Guide

Using the Channel up/down buttons ONLY SCROLLS THRU THE 2000 CHANNELS IN THE BOX, not the 50 Favorites I actually ever watch.

Who would want this ? I have looked at all the settings, there is no way to do this ? The Channel up/down can ONLY school through ALL the channels ???

This can't be right ?

Good evening @satyricon and Welcome to our Community Forums,

Thank you for reaching out to us about utilizing the favorites feature with our guide, you will want to be on the guide and then select the options button. This should bring up a list that has all channels, favorites, sports, etc. You will want to make sure that only the favorites option is selected. Then you will be able to view only your favorite channels on the guide. Please let us know if this helps out. -Lyn

    I guess I wasn’t clear.

When just watching TV, no Menus present, JUST watching a show - when I “channel UP”, or “channel DOWN”, I am forced to scroll thru ALL 2000 channels, including the 1950 I do NOT want to see.

No one wants that. That’s the whole point of Favorites.

Thank you for clarifying. I completely understand the frustrations, especially When you have already set your box to filter out your preferences (to display fav. channels only). We are able to use the email provided in the registrations for this platform and locate your account. I can confirm a few cable boxes, but only one has that preference set. To confirm, is this setting on all 3 or just 1 of the cable boxes?

it's the new box, we don't set Favorites on the others.

the box I previously had in that location till yesterday just did not work the way this new one does.

I’m watching a show and just want to jog thru my Favorites to see what's on. I have to believe 99.9% of users would want it to work that way. I don't want to keep going into the Guide and read the descriptions of all the Favorites I have saved.

I completely understand and to be honest with you, you shouldn't have to. When your guide is set to your favorites, you should only be scrolling through your favorites when you channel up and down. I am not sure why it keeps resorting to the full guide, but we may need to replace this box for you. I have a few options available, which would you prefer. The first option, I can mail you out a replacement box to your home. The second, I can set you up for an exchange and pick up at your nearest Spectrum store.

    to be clear:

    a) the Guide displays Favorites while in Guide

    b) scrolling with channel up/down progresses through all channels while watching TV

I am the only one who sees this ? I’m having trouble believe it's a broken new box. This is a different model from what we had before.

That is correct. If your guide is set to display favorite channels only, and you use your channel up and down to surf, you should only see your favorite channels listed. I was able to confirm that on my end. While I understand it is a new box, sometimes these things can happen, and it requires a replacement. I can confirm the guide is set to view your favorite channel list and this was a box that was replaced yesterday.

If you would like, I can absolutely set up an appointment with one of our technicians to exchange the box, if the other two options are not convenient for you.

well, ok. perhaps the difference is that there is no "Favorites" button on the Remote. If I use the old remote, and push the "Fav" button it works as I would expect. There is no similar button on the new Remote. I may have misremembered using the Channel Up/Down button.

I think the "Mini-Menu" is supposed to replace that function. I'll try it for awhile before having anyone come back out.

    Thank you

I completely understand. The Spectrum guide remotes do not have a favorites button, but as long as you update the guide, via guide settings, to filter your favorite channels, which I can confirm it was set to, it should only cycle through those favorite channels. No worries, we definitely appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to make things easier for our customers.
