Why can't I interrupt a recording to watch the recording?

I have xumo box with cloud dvr. When I record a sports event, I end program an hour late in case there is overtime. if it ends on time or before that hour is up, I am unable to interrupt the recording and watch the event until that hour is over. Very frustrating and should not be happening with this technology.

Hello and Welcome to the Community!

The XUMO boxes are based on live streaming for recordings and on Demand technologies. Everything comes through and off of the Internet on Xumo boxes. You would need to make sure the whole show records to get a quality playback because Cloud DVR is coming off a live stream, or a stream exactly as it is being presented by the broadcast of the show.

Your workarounds for this are as follows:

1.) Keeping Cloud DVR and waiting for all shows to record completely before playing them back, or

2.) Changing from cloud DVR to traditional DVR, which is box-based for recordings and not Internet server-based like XUNO Cloud DVR service. A traditional DVR box will give you more control over the memory buffer. Storage space is much more limited than cloud DVR, but some customers find traditional DVR to be more reliable.
