Odd Video Issue with Spectrum Injected Commercials
For a number of years I have noticed an odd video issue with commercials that appear to be injected by my local Spectrum office. The commercials are found on many national feeds but appear to be injected locally as many are Spectrum or local commercials. They exhibit extensive combing artifacts. This can be seen on vertical lines of objects on the screen as short, jagged, offset, horizontal lines and looks horrible. No other video exhibits this issue. I have selected all of the video output options for my STB with no change. I suspect this is a problem with settings in the local Spectrum equipment that inject these commercials. It can be created when interlaced video is converted to progressive video and the first field is incorrectly selected. Does anyone else notice this or is it an issue to me locally, and most importantly, who do I contact to report it? Here's an example of combing. Thanks

Good morning @raouliii!
I would be careful adjusting your STB equipment on these commercials, as you don;t want a setting to be changed that could interfere with the quality content of main programing. On what channel(s) does this occur? Is this a Spectrum owned channel like Spectrum News 1? or do these local commercials appear on any network? What products do they promote?
I suspect that this is a problem with local studio equipment that is producing these commercials. I think this is a transmitting problem, not a STB receiver issue. For further investigation by Spectrum, provide these things:
1.) Your state, city, and zip code.
2.) The channel(s) on which the commercials with the terrible lines appear. (Describe name of the product or service promoted.)
3.) Are the lines constant in the above conditions? Do they get worse or better during a specific time? Or are they always there distorting the picture?
4.) Does rebooting the equipment, (STB and modem) make a difference? Try a reboot of those things if you have not done so for a long time.
5.) Does watching the content on different equipment, say your PC or the Spectrum App produce the same result with the line problems on local commercials?
Answer the above questions in a report back to us. Thanks!
