Checking email while abroad

I've been trying to connect to the website to check my email while I'm out of the country. I will be out for a few months and I need to keep checking emails periodically. Can someone tell me what is the issue? Why is it that I can not access my email while out of the USA?

    Hi & welcome!

    Access to our email is blocked outside the US for security reasons. You can either forward your email to an email client, such as Outlook or Gmail, or you can try using a US IP based VPN to access.

    I never had those issues before.

    So this means that nobody can access emails while traveling?

    It seems a bit absurd, but I guess that is your policy.

    This may just be the reason why I will cancel my Spectrum account alltogether.
